Inklings are first echelon spells associated with the Thought element. They progress into Telepath spells.

Name: Message
Type: Inkling
Description: The mage is able to send a message of ten words or less to a target who they can see, or otherwise are able to target such as through their true name.

This spell may be cast as if from a higher echelon. If cast as a 2nd echelon spell the message length doubles. This allows for messages of 20 words long at 2nd echelon, 100 words long at 3rd echelon, and so on.

A basic staple spell across every magic system. The doubling effect is largely an amusing anomaly, but in theory if you cast a spell at the equivalent of something like a 20th echelon you could curse someone to listen to an incredibly long message for some years.

Name: Vanish
Type: Inkling
Description: The mage completely disappears from view. This only affects mundane vision, they can still be heard or tracked magically. This remains in effect until the character performs an action that would interact with another creature, at which point they abruptly appear back in view. The gear that the character is holding when the spell is cast becomes invisible with them, but anything new they come in contact with will not become invisible. This spell can be cast on someone other than the caster.

A very useful utility spell, but countered by all the classics - thrown flour, listening to them, and so on.
