This page is one giant table of traits, organized into three categories: what the character knows, what they are, and what they can do. These traits are mainly for player characters. If you're after some more general information on player characters or how to make a character in Medaevum, consider this page: Player Characters.

If a trait has "Teacher" listed as a prerequisite, that means the character must find someone who already has the trait and is willing to teach them in order to adopt it themselves.

General Traits

These are traits that have no or minimal prerequisites to adoption. Traits with no prerequisites (or traits whose prerequisites can be met by adopting traits with no prerequisite) can be chosen at character creation.

For example, a Valleyman can adopt the trait Inhumanly Strong but only if they take the trait Very Strong as well. A human could start as Very Strong, but only if they also take the trait Strong.

Name Prerequisites Description
Strong None This character is stronger than most, and in matters of raw strength will triumph over anyone without this trait.
Very Strong Strong Even among strong persons, this character is considered exceptional.
Inhumanly Strong Very Strong, Valleyman or magic This character is inhumanly strong, totally beyond the realm of human possibility.
Perceptive None This character is very perceptive. When trying to perceive something in their environment, add half again their Cleverness to their total.

Lore Traits

These are traits that have virtually no basis in skill - beside for skill in research, perhaps - but which represent the character's vast knowledge on the subject.

Name Prerequisites Description
Bushcraft Teacher The character is adept with general survival skills and will know their way around the wilds.
Westfalian Teacher This character was not raised with the Westfalian language, but has learned to understand it through study.
Empyrean Teacher This character was not raised with the Empyrean language, but has learned to understand it through study.
