Necromancy spells are third echelon spells associated with death. They progress into the fourth echelon, which shares the name of the third echelon.

Name: Ghoulify
Type: Necromancy
Description: The necromancer binds a soul which has passed onto the Unseen to an unliving body within the Seen. This cannot be done with a body which already possesses a soul, or a body which is not dead and inanimate. Once the person has been made into a ghoul, they gain the Ghoul trait. The Necromancer must succeed on an Intellect check to do so, but if they fail they may retry as many times as they like.

This can only be done with a soul that is willing to be returned in this way, and which has not already been claimed by something else. If it has already been claimed, they may be visited by a servant of the spirit's true master speaking through the dead body to explain this. If the necromancer critically fails their check, they may be in more danger than a simple visit.
Name: Command Undead
Type: Necromancy
Description: The necromancer commands an undead creature. If the undead has no master, then the necromancer must simply succeed on an Intellect roll to do so. If the undead has a master already, they must both successfully roll for this action, and then the undead's current master must fail an Intellect roll to maintain control over the undead.

Should the necromancer succeed, they are that new undead's master and may control it as if they had the undead's true name. They may speak through its voice, see through its eyes, hear its thoughts, and act through them. This control is conscious, but requires no more effort than a thought. It may only be blocked by acquiring some means of breaking the necromancer's magical influence.
